The Gatehouse Steakhouse is born out of a passion for Red Meat, Great Produce and Clean and Simple cooking techniques!
Our philosiphy is to let the produce do the talking which is why we worked hard on our menus to fit in such good local suppliers and build the menu around what we can find from small growers and farms and enhance with our cooking techniques.
Please dont be confused by the meaning of simple cooking…we dont cook from packets, or throw steaks in the oven. Our ingredients are of high quality, and it is very importand that we do not cover this up. We treat our produce with respect, cook it with precision over a top of the range chargrill, allow adequate rest time, and serve it elegantly. Our steak seasoning has only 5 ingredients, 2 of those being Halen Mon Rock Salt and Cracked Black Pepper…the rest is a secret!!! Our seasoning paired with well marbelled beef ensures a unique flavour to every piece of meat we cook!
The Gatehouse should appeal to a wide customer base, and has become somewhat a destination restaurant which our guests are driving to specifically to try us out. Situated in the historic town of Dolgellau in the Snowdonia National Park, we could not ask for a more beautiful location.
